AMONG THE 37 INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS
A total of 37 international experts in the field of hospitals analysed the field’s state of affairs, presented examples and proposals, etc. Rui Maia, as IDOM’s representative, was one of them. With the title “Hospital architecture in Europe. New challenges” he presented the Case Study of the hospital of Amarante to exemplify that “with limited financial resources, aspects related to the construction, regulations and programme can be exceeded, managing to incorporate a cultural and symbolic component to the design of a hospital, making the latter part of the city and the people’s lives”, as stated by Rui.
