Wide FastCam is a wide-field imaging camera for the Telescopio Carlos Sanchez (TCS) belonging to the Instituto Astrofísico de Canarias (IAC), that arose from the FastCam instrument.
It was conceived for obtaining extremely high temporal and spatial resolution images in the optical wavelength range from ground-based telescopes. IDOM was involved in the design, manufacture, integration and testing of the opto-mechanical system, which is aimed at adapting the TCS visual field to 8×8 in addition to providing excellent optical and mechanical stability to the instrument. Wide FastCam entered into operation by mid 2014.
