The post-crisis city

A 24-HOUR CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE COUNCIL ON TALL BUILDINGS

On November 17, The post crisis city: Rethinking Sustainable Vertical Urbanism took place, an event that began in Singapore, continued in London and finished in Chicago, in total 24 hours. Organized by the Council on Tall Buildings (CTBUH), it brought together a total of 56 speakers / panellists and an audience of over 1,000 people.

In physical form in Singapore and virtual in London and Chicago, the event analysed the real impact of the pandemic, climate change and how these issues may affect the shape of buildings and cities of the future.

The London program, coordinated by Francisco Javier Quintana, Director of IDOM UK and president of the CTBUH in the United Kingdom, began with a joint panel with Singapore entitled Reimagining the Global City and closed with another panel along with Chicago called The Work-from-Home Surge out of the Pandemics. In addition, an individual interview with Peter Murray and Norman Foster was organized in which it was considered whether cities will be healthier after the pandemic, a panel on the future of tall buildings and another on mobility and urban growth.
