Water and the environment is a strategic sector in the development of any region or country. IDOM is working in the field of planning and strategic consulting support for public and private entities in the development of master plans, watershed plans, feasibility studies, public-private partnership schemes and, in general, any activity related to water resource planning and the development of management schemes.
Within the activities of water supply and sanitation, the transportation and distribution of the resource from source of origin to points of consumption, as well as discharge points until reuse points, are of great importance. IDOM has specialized in these types of projects. We work on large hydraulic transport infrastructure projects (large-scale transport pipelines, canals, pumping stations ...) as well as the design and development of distribution networks and sanitation.
Ensuring water quality, both for human treatment, or return to the environment, is one of the major challenges of the century. IDOM is committed to this work, essential for both human development and protection of the environment. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals have the capacity to cover all elements of the entire water treatment cycle at all stages of design and development (previous studies, feasibility studies of alternatives, basic design, detailed design and construction management and the operation of water treatment plants).
Dams are considered to be one of the major hydraulic engineering achievements. IDOM has the knowledge and experience to develop these types of projects. Given the multidisciplinary nature of the firm, we have the capacity to design and develop this type of hydropower infrastructure, combining specialized equipment in hydraulics, civil and geotechnical work, hydro-mechanical equipment, electrical infrastructure and communications systems, instrumentation and control.
The study of rivers and flood defence (hydrology and fluvial hydraulics) is an important component of the services we provide, be that water planning or regional development, of special importance especially considering the climate changes that are affecting the planet in recent times. IDOM is specialized in developing these types of studies and analysis. We work with the most advanced tools on the market, such as remote sensing and geographical information, and hydrology and hydraulic tools for modelling of rivers and/or open channels.
