The offshore wind farm of Saint-Brieuc Bay with an installed capacity of 496 MW, is the first large-scale wind farm in Brittany, and one of the first in France to obtain all the necessary government permits for its construction and operation.
With an investment of 2.5 billion euros, once put into operation by Ailes Marines in 2023, it will meet the energy needs of 835,000 people.
Located 16.3 km off the French coast in the Saint-Brieuc bay, the farm will cover an approximate area of 75 km². The 62 (207-meter high) wind turbines, each with a capacity of 8 MW, will be configured in 7 rows.
IDOM is responsible for the 3D modeling of the metallic structure of the substation, including not just the jacket foundation, but also the different levels of the topside structure (cable deck, main deck, utility deck, and roof deck). IDOM has also worked on the layout of the equipment (electrical, HVAC, fire protection, cable trays, and piping).
