Comprehensive structuring of the traffic control system in Bogotá

IDOM is spearheading the technical, financial, and legal structuring of Bogotá’s Urban Traffic Control System (UTC), a strategic initiative aimed at transforming mobility in Colombia’s capital. The project encompasses the preparation of terms of reference and support for the contracting process, covering 1,579 signalized intersections, the implementation of advanced control centers, and the development of an efficient migration plan for the city’s traffic infrastructure.
A key feature of the initiative is its technology-independent design, ensuring flexibility and seamless integration of new solutions. The use of open UTC protocols fosters genuine competition among technology providers, promoting transparency and driving innovation in the market.
IDOM’s comprehensive approach enables the modernization of Bogotá’s urban traffic system, resulting in more efficient, safer, and sustainable traffic management. This positions the city as a benchmark for smart mobility in Latin America.
