Daimler AG chose IDOM as Owner’s Engineer, for the fast-track design and construction of their new van manufacturing plant in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the most modern automotive plants in the USA.

IDOM has played a key role as the property’s engineering, acting as Daimler’s technical representative to ensure that the project was executed with the highest standards of quality, efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Preliminary and basic engineering

• Development of conceptual and basic engineering for the entire plant, including the definition of technical and functional requirements for each production area.

Contracting documentation

• Preparation of technical and administrative specifications for bids

Technical-economic assistance

• Support to Daimler in the evaluation of bids and selection of contractors.
• Comparative analysis of technical and economic proposals.

Technical work supervision

• Permanent presence of an IDOM team in Charleston to:
