The approval of the Technical Safety Standards for Dams and their Reservoirs by RD 264/202, of April 13, has meant the unification and updating of the regulations in force at the national level in the field of dams, providing a new common framework in line with the international standards developed in this field in recent years, and which seeks to respond to the ultimate objective of compliance with the principles of: safety, protection of critical infrastructure, improvement of governance, efficiency in management and operation, and optimization in the use of water resources.

Adapting to the New Technical Standards for the Safety of Dams and their Reservoirs.

IDOM has actively participated in this process of renewal and adaptation to the reference regulations through the drafting, review and updating of the operating standards of up to 16 dams located in the eastern sector of the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation, namely Aguascebas, San Clemente, La Bolera, Francisco Abellán, Dañador, Quiebrajano, Rumblar, Zocueca, Fresneda, Víboras, Canales, Quéntar, Colomera, Cubillas, Bermejales and Siles.

As a result, the contents of the regulatory documents were adapted to the present needs of the NTS, and the information contained within the technological archives of the reservoirs was updated to guarantee the safety and efficiency of the procedures to develop during the life of the reservoirs to meet the required standards of maintenance, preservation, control and monitoring.
