Data centre MEX/5

Mexico

The Tultitlán Data Center project in the State of Mexico consists of three final design phases, or clean rooms, called phases 6, 7, and 8. Each phase has an IT capacity of 1.2 MW. These design and construction phases are in addition to the initial five, and the building is an existing industrial warehouse. The total IT capacity is 9.6 MW.

IT capacity: 9.6 MW

The design incorporates several requirements from the operator and emphasizes energy efficiency. It is the first data center (DC) in Mexico with chilled water design temperatures that deviate from “traditional” standards. This provides benefits to the free cooling system and won the “Data Center Design Innovation” category at the DCD 2023.

IDOM carried out the entire project. The design stages were SD (Schematic Design), DD (Development Design), and CD (Construction Design), with weekly monitoring of the work. The project included the following components:

  • Architecture
  • Civil Engineering
  • Structure
  • Electrical
  • Fire protection, Fire alarm
  • HVAC
  • Hydraulics and Sanitation
