More than 240,000 people in Urabá, Antioquia have access to drinking water thanks to IDOM’s efforts
On November 4, 2025, Empresa de Vivienda de Antioquia – VIVA and IDOM Colombia signed a contract for the preparation of studies and designs for the Río León (El Sable) aqueduct system. This initiative aims to provide the communities of Urabá in Antioquia with access to quality drinking water.
The project involves collecting, transporting, treating, storing, and distributing water resources. It will benefit more than 243,000 people, including nearly 150,000 current users in the municipalities of Turbo, Apartadó, and Carepa.
This 13-month project is a decisive step towards sustainable development, improved quality of life, and strengthened social infrastructure in a strategically important subregion.
