Landscape Middle East Awards 2025: Contribution to Landscape Restoration

IDOM has been recognized with First Prize in the “Resource Efficiency & Circular Systems” category at the 4th edition of the Landscape Middle East Awards (LMEA), held on November 17 at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi. This award, presented by Landscape Middle East in conjunction with the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Middle East, the Saudi Society of Landscape Architecture (SSLA), and international partners, highlights excellence in landscape architecture in the region.

The award-winning NEOM Forestation Project is a pioneering initiative that sets a new standard for resource-efficient landscape restoration in one of the most challenging environments on the planet: the arid terrain of Saudi Arabia. Its design integrates advanced technology and traditional soil management practices, creating climate-resilient ecosystems and significantly reducing the consumption of materials, water, and energy.

This project goes beyond design to contribute to environmental regeneration, climate change mitigation, and an improved quality of life in the region. It demonstrates that innovation and sustainability can work together to transform landscapes and cities. This recognition reinforces IDOM’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in designing urban and natural environments, establishing landscape architecture as a core part of our services.

The awards ceremony took place during the Landscape Middle East Conference under the theme “Nature & Community.” It was an opportunity to share knowledge. Our colleagues Manuela Casado and Nour Slimen participated in roundtable discussions on smart landscapes and city greening, sharing our vision for habitat restoration and green cities.
