Ready for the future of water? This is what IDOM is building towards at WETEX 2025
From September 30 to October 2, IDOM took part in WETEX 2025, Dubai’s leading international event dedicated to water management, energy, and sustainability.
Our team had the opportunity to connect with some of the most innovative organizations in the sector, including TAQA and DEWA, and to exchange experiences on the most relevant projects in large-scale desalination, clean energy integration, and resilient infrastructure.
Beyond the presentations and exhibits, WETEX 2025 stood out as a key meeting point for dialogue and collaboration among public and private organizations committed to accelerating the transition toward more sustainable, intelligent, and circular water systems.
Throughout the event, several trends emerged that are shaping the future of the sector:
- Regional collaboration is accelerating, with UAE’s public and private sectors co-developing smarter, more efficient water systems.
- Digital solutions are leading the way, as AI and predictive analytics become standard tools in water asset management.
- Decentralized infrastructure is gaining traction, particularly in wastewater and stormwater systems for fast-growing urban areas.
- Cross-sector planning is creating scalable solutions, exemplified by projects such as Tasreef, which integrate multiple disciplines to adapt to climate challenges.
- The future of water is circular, with reuse, energy recovery, and resource optimization taking center stage.
At IDOM, we firmly believe that innovation in the water cycle is no longer optional — it’s essential. From conveyance and distribution systems to wastewater treatment plants, dams, and integrated water management, we are proud to contribute to solutions that prioritize resilience, sustainability, and smart infrastructure.
