At IDOM, we believe that renovation is a powerful means of innovation and a step towards more sustainable architecture. Our Bilbao headquarters is a prime example of this, having been transformed from a former bonded port warehouse into an efficient, contemporary and environmentally friendly workspace while preserving 97% of its original structure.

To celebrate European Heritage Days, we opened our doors to share this experience with the public. The excellent reception we received confirms the growing interest in understanding how architecture can be used to create something new from existing heritage, restoring its value.

Reusing existing structures not only reduces emissions and waste, but also preserves the memory of a place and redefines responsible design.
