Marine storage terminal 220,000 m³ – Addax Oryx

The 220,000 m³ marine storage terminal developed by Addax Oryx at the Port of Gran Canaria is a strategic hub on international hydrocarbon transit routes. In operation since 2014, this state-of-the-art facility offers maximum flexibility and complies with stringent European standards for safety, health, and the environment. IDOM provided project management consultancy, engineering supervision, document control, and HAZOP risk analysis throughout all project phases.

Oryx Energies (International Logistics Operator of hydrocarbons) has built a storage terminal of more than 220,000 m³ in the port of Gran Canaria, one of the key points in the maritime transit routes of the world due to the strategic location of the island.

The new terminal which entered service in 2014, has a cutting-edge design that offers maximum flexibility and rapid product transfer during loading/unloading, complying with the strictest European regulations on safety, health and the environment. It is used for the storage, distribution and sale of a wide range of hydrocarbons.

Addax and Oryx decided to hire IDOM to carry out the PROJECT MANAGER CONSULTANCY (PMC) services, considering the following activities:

  • Project management consultancy (PMC) services
  • Supervision and review of detailed engineering documentation for all specialties
  • Document control,HAZOP study for risk analysis in the main systems of the terminal
  • Advising the client in the different phases of the project
