Daimler AG chose IDOM as Owner’s Engineer, for the fast-track design and construction of their new van manufacturing plant in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the most modern automotive plants in the USA.
The innovative facilities, in the first phase, will occupy over 130.000 m², including the body shop, the paint shop, final assembly, office building, and auxiliary services.
Technical assistance for the project carried out by IDOM included:
- Preliminary and Basic Engineering for the van manufacturing plant
- Project Specifications for Request for Proposals
- Owner’s Engineering for contractor selection,
- On-Site Technical Supervision during construction with the permanent presence of part of IDOM’s team.
