Data center – Edge

Mexico

The client held a competition for the development of an EDGE Data Center in Mexico City, based on a restricted invitation. This data centre is used exclusively for colocation and offers a Tier III Concurrently Maintainable availability level, certified by the Uptime Institute. The two-level building that will house it corresponds to two project phases.

IT capacity: 650 kW

The premise of this project was to create an in-house facility that could meet the varying space requirements of customers who require data storage, processing, distribution, use in query processes and modification.

The project won the DCD Latam 2022 award in the ‘Edge Data Centre Project of the Year’ category and is Tier III certified by the Uptime Institute.

The project was carried out entirely by IDOM. The design stages were SD (Schematic Design), DD (Development Design), and CD (Construction Design), and the following components were included:

  • Architecture
  • Civil Engineering
  • Structure
  • Electrical
  • CCTV, CA
  • Fire protection, Fire alarm
  • HVAC
  • Hydraulics and Sanitation
  • Soil Mechanics Studies
  • Coordination with the Works Project Manager
