Industrial desalination in Abu Dhabi: Wave Project as a sustainable solution

Abu Dhabi - Dubai | Middle East

The Wave Project highlights industrial desalination in Abu Dhabi and Dubai as a sustainable alternative for the sector. Led by ADNOC and engineered by IDOM, it integrates a desalination plant and over 450 km of pipelines to supply desalinated seawater for industrial processes. The system, with more than 70 km of transmission lines and a daily pumping capacity of up to 506,400 m³, ensures efficiency and safety, meeting client requirements for optimal long-term operation.

Within the effort of Abu Dhabi National Water Company (ADNOC) to use more sustainable processes in the industry, Project Wave seeks to include desalinated seawater in the resource extraction processes in the Middle East, through a desalination plant and more than 450 km of pipeline.

For this purpose, IDOM provides Basic and Detailed Engineering services for pumping and transportation premises, with more than 70 kilometers of pipelines and a maximum daily flow of 506,400 m3. All this without exceeding the maximum consumptions set by the client and ensuring the stability and security for optimal operation during the life of the project.
