Modernization of Rail Transport in Sao Paulo

Brazil

IDOM has delivered the Comprehensive Telecommunications Master Plan for Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, aiming to modernize and enhance the technological infrastructure of one of Latin America’s largest metropolitan rail networks. This ambitious project involves the definition and detailed specification of technological standards for all telecommunications systems, which are essential for efficient rail operations, improved safety, and the introduction of new user-oriented services.

IDOM’s work includes both technology consulting—assessing current and future needs—and the development of detailed project documentation, outlining optimal technical solutions and procedures for implementation. The plan addresses key aspects such as internal and external communications, information system integration, video surveillance, incident management, and interoperability among various lines and operators.

With this comprehensive approach, CPTM can offer safer, more efficient, and user-focused operations, facilitating access to innovative services and enhancing the experience of millions of daily passengers. The project positions IDOM as a leader in the design and implementation of advanced technological systems for the international rail sector.
