Projects for PSA – General Motors

IDOM has been provided engineering services since 1995 for the PSA – General Motors factory in Figueruelas in Zaragoza (Spain).

More than 65 engineering projects have been developed to meet the demands of increased production and growth:

• Adaptation of the plant for the manufacture of new models (Meriva, Mokka or Corsa, among others),
• Plant extensions
• New paint booths
• Implementation of productive improvements

The scope of the services provided is adjusted to the needs of each project, including engineering during the design, procurement, and/or construction management phases.

The PSA – General Motors have undergone major business transformations, and are now operating under new structures and names.

PSA Group (formerly known as PSA Peugeot Citroën) was a French automotive group that included the Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Opel and Vauxhall brands. In 2021, PSA merged with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to form Stellantis, one of the world’s largest automakers.

As for General Motors (GM), it is an independent U.S. automaker that does not belong to any other group. However, in 2017, GM sold its European subsidiary Opel/Vauxhall to the PSA Group for more than €2 billion. Since then, Opel and Vauxhall became part of the PSA Group, and subsequently of Stellantis after the merger.

Automotive
