Beam Suntory, a world-renowned producer and marketer of a wide range of alcoholic beverages, needed to improve its internal processes to optimize production efficiency. For the implementation of the MES (Manufacturing Execution System), they turned to the services of IDOM.
The scope of the project included the implementation of OpCenter EX Process (PR) in the distillery, covering agave reception, extraction, hydrolysis, fermentation and distillation, as well as the implementation of OpCenter Manufacturing Intelligence (MI). This was complemented by the creation of production control panels in Tableau and integration with WinCC through OPC-UA.
The implementation of the MES system has enabled several important milestones to be achieved in optimizing plant efficiency. Highlights include real-time production monitoring, automated data collection, detailed production traceability, and real-time KPI and dashboard generation.
