IDOM is working on innovation in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (ATM) Mobility Plan
IDOM is participating in the development of the 2026–2031 Mobility Plan for the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM), specifically the section focused on mobility innovation.
The project focuses on analyzing six key areas:
- Autonomous vehicles
- Drones applied to mobility
- Sharing economy
- Reduction of externalities (low-emission zones and urban tolls)
- Pparking management
- Open data portals
One of the project’s distinguishing features is its territorial approach. Solutions are designed not only for urban environments but also for rural and low-density areas, where mobility is more challenging and such initiatives are less developed.
This approach is reinforced within the framework of the European Interreg Europe “Rural Mobility” program, which aims to improve transportation in these territories through smart, sustainable, and replicable solutions.
Additionally, the project incorporates three cross-cutting priorities, decarbonization of transportation, climate change resilience, and rural mobility, which are integrated into the analysis of all areas.
IDOM’s role is to provide technical support to ATM by conducting diagnostics, analyzing European best practices, and defining innovative solutions, with the aim of developing viable, scalable proposals tailored to the Barcelona Region.
