IDOM’s rail experience applied to new transport corridors in Central Asia
From June 22 to 23, IDOM participated in Kazakh RailLogix 2026 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This forum brought together rail operators, international financial institutions, and development agencies to discuss the future of rail transport in Central Asia. This region is important because of its role as a link between Europe and Asia.
IDOM presented its expertise in developing rail projects, covering both conventional and high-speed lines and spanning the entire life cycle, including planning, design, supervision, and commissioning. The presentation focused on applying this knowledge to environments with high operational complexity, particularly international transport corridors involving multiple stakeholders and technical requirements.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss initiatives such as the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) and the CAREC corridors. These corridors are promoting projects for new lines, electrification, and capacity expansion with support from entities such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB). These developments aim to improve cross-border connectivity and strengthen rail’s role in intercontinental logistics.
IDOM’s participation in this forum is part of its broader international involvement in railway projects, providing technical and strategic expertise during a period of substantial investment and transformation in the sector across Central Asia.
