IDOM to deliver detailed design for the 500 MW Al Kamil I solar project in Oman

IDOM has been selected by Shanxi Installation Group to carry out the detailed design for the 500 MW Al Kamil I Solar Project in Oman, further strengthening the company’s presence in the Middle East’s growing renewable energy sector.

Beyond the detailed design of the solar plant, the project also includes the definition of the initial site studies, laying the groundwork for successful delivery. Together, these activities will support Oman’s renewable energy transition and long-term sustainability goals by expanding clean power generation and further diversifying the country’s energy mix.

Under the contract, IDOM will provide detailed engineering services for the solar facility, drawing on its extensive experience in the design and delivery of utility-scale photovoltaic projects worldwide. The company’s multidisciplinary team will work closely with Shanxi Installation Group to help ensure the efficient development of a reliable and high-performance renewable energy asset.

The Al Kamil I Solar Project forms part of Oman’s broader strategy to increase the share of renewable energy in its power generation portfolio and advance its long-term sustainability objectives. As the country continues to invest in clean energy infrastructure, large-scale solar developments such as Al Kamil I will play an increasingly important role in meeting growing electricity demand while reducing reliance on conventional generation sources.

This award adds to IDOM’s expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects across the Middle East and reinforces the trust placed in the company’s engineering capabilities by leading international contractors and developers.

Through projects such as Al Kamil I, IDOM continues to support the development of sustainable energy infrastructure that contributes to a more resilient and low-carbon future.
