A historic day for River Plate

First home game of the season opener and inauguration of the first stage of the refurbishment we are planning.

Sunday, February 12, 2023, was a historic day for the Más Monumental stadium, the home of River Plate. The season kicked off with the first home game and the inauguration of stage 0 of the works that IDOM is designing for the club were. For the first time, 3 of the 4 lower-level stands that bring the public closer to the pitch were filled. The existing pitch has been lowered by 1.80 m and the athletics track removed. The new exit tunnel for the players, located in the middle of the new lower level of the San Martin main stand, has also guided the first players onto the pitch. The new hospitality ring in the Centenario stand will be completed in a matter of weeks. The stadium was packed to the rafters, with the fans closer than ever to the pitch, putting pressure on the players. The new popular stands in Sivori and Centenario cheered on as River Plate were victorious over Argentinos. Work will continue on Más Monumental to include new seating, a restaurant and new hospitality areas, making this the largest stadium in Latin America.
