Smart Stations in Smart Cities

PRESENTING THE RIYADH METRO PROJECT AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON RAILWAY STATIONS

From October 19-20, the Next Station. 6th International Conference on Railway Stations was held in Madrid. Organized by the Worldwide Railway Organisation (UIC) and Spanish Rail Infrastructure Manager (Adif), this is one of the most important events in the railway sector. The theme of this year’s edition was Smart Stations in Smart Cities.

Fernando Pérez Fraile, representing IDOM, presented the Riyadh Metro project within the session entitled Solutions for an integrated mobility. During his presentation, he described the main features of the integrated transport system currently under construction in the Saudi capital and the expected social impact, once it enters into service.
