We celebrate with FCB the reception of the International Architecture Award for our Camp Nou project
On September 15, the International Architecture Awards gala took place at the Eleon Loft in Athens.
Organized by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture, Design and Urban Studies, they are one of the most prestigious awards in the field of architecture, internationally.
Our colleague Diego Rodríguez was there with Albert Freixes (b720) and Daisuke Ibano and Masakazu Kimura (Nikken Sekkei) to collect the joint award bestowed on our Spotify Camp Nou project.
But the celebrations did not end there. The design team joined the club and all the fans to celebrate the award, attending the match between FC Barcelona and Royal Antwerp on Tuesday, 19 March.
The club organized a pre-match encounter in the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium’s box of honor, where Joan Laporta, president of FCB, received the trophy from César Azcárate, director of sports architecture at IDOM, Diego Rodríguez, director of the Spotify Camp Nou project at IDOM, Juan Güell, chief architect of the project at Nikken Sekkei, and Fermín Vázquez and Albert Freixes, partners of b720. Elena Fort, vice-president of FCB, Lluís Moya (Espai Barça) and Joan Sentelles (Operations Director of the club) also participated in the event.
