The technical design of the interoperable BAT card in Spain, developed by IDOM, has enabled efficient integration of the contactless system for EuskoTren Tram and Tuvisa urban buses in Vitoria-Gasteiz. This smart mobility solution ensures interoperability with other cards in the Basque Country and complies with ISO24014-1 for interoperable fare systems at the European level.
IDOM defined the card services, the physical support based on NXP Mifare Desfire technology, and established robust security policies using SAM modules, key management, and HSM systems.
