PP10 Conversion to combined cycles – 3,700 MW

Saudi Arabia

The PP10 Combined Cycle Conversion is a flagship project that transformed an originally simple-cycle plant, consisting of 40 GE 7EA turbines, into one of the largest combined cycle facilities worldwide. This PP10 Combined Cycle Conversion, engineered by IDOM, involved the integration of 40 HRSGs, 10 steam turbines, 10 air-cooled condensers, and all necessary auxiliary systems in a 4×1 configuration, achieving a total capacity of 3,700 MW and maximizing the plant’s energy efficiency.

PP10 was originally a simple cycle plant, composed of 40 GE 7EA turbines (55.91 MW).

IDOM has developed the project to convert the plant into a combined cycle plant, installing 40 HRSG’s, 10 TV and 10 ACC, in addition to the necessary auxiliary equipment (PTA, compressed air, etc.).

10 combined cycles have been installed in 4×1 configuration, resulting in one of the largest plants of its kind in the world.
