Digital Agenda for the Basque Country 2020

Diagnosis of the situation of the Information Society in the Basque Country and design of a new Digital Agenda, aligned with the objectives of the Europe 2020 programme and the Horizon 2020 of the European Commission. The Plan contains the Strategic Challenges for 2020 translated into Objectives, Lines of Action and specific strategic initiatives covering the areas of Citizenship, Business, Administration, the Technological Sector and Technological Infrastructure.

Using technologies to improve competitiveness, well-being and quality of life

Different actions were carried out in the preparation of the strategic plan – Agenda Digital de Euskadi 2020 – for the Department of Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Government:

• Evaluation of the evolution of the Information Society in the Basque Country and introduction of AD@15 programmes and projects
• Diagnosis of situation in the areas of Business, Citizenship, Administration and Infrastructure
• Definition of the strategic framework defined by the future Challenges, Lines of Action and Strategic Objectives
• Design of a portfolio of 62 Driving-force Initiatives in the areas of Business, Citizenship, Administration and Infrastructure
• Organization of a participatory model to compare the Agenda between business and institutional actors at all levels of the Administration
• Design of the Scorecard with indicators and 2020 targets for the follow-up of the Agenda
• Design of the Governance Model, including the decision, consultation and operation bodies
• Elaboration of the budgetary framework to carry out the plan
• Benchmark of policies in 15 countries of the world to boost Industry 4.0
• Events to socialize/promote AD@2020 among the managers of the Government’s Driving-force Initiatives
• Monitoring of events, experts and approaches within the 4 areas covered by the Agenda
