EPCM – Integral flat glass plant for AGC (Phases I and II)

IDOM has developed the entire project of the flat and processed glass production plant in Guaratinguetá (São Paulo), Brazil for the Japanese company AGC Glass. This plant is considered to be one of the largest glass plants in the world, and its construction has been carried out in 2 phases, which has allowed its initial production level to be increased 2.4 times.

This AGC plant is intended for the manufacture of float flat glass for architectural and automotive applications, mirrors, glass products manufactured for architectural use and laminated / tempered glass for the automotive sector. The complex uses the most advanced technologies in atmospheric pollution control systems.

AGC has called on IDOM to carry out the project management and full engineering, under an EPCM agreement, of the 2 phases of plant construction, project management and full engineering. The scope of the services provided includes:

  • Engineering of civil works, building and utilities
  • Procurement management
  • Construction management
  • Start up

In both cases, the deadline for the commissioning and operation of the plant has been successfully exceeded.
