Detailed Civil Engineering for the Expansion of San Esteban II Hydroelectric Power Plant with New 175 MW Francis Turbine

IDOM has carried out for IBERDROLA the detailed engineering of the civil works of the expansion project of the turbine hall of the San Esteban II hydroelectric power plant for the installation of a new Francis turbine (175 MW).
The scope of the services provided by IDOM has included, not only the design, but also the technical assistance during the construction phase of a group of structures and civil works corresponding to the expansion of the underground room for the installation of the new turbine. During the design, modeling has been carried out using a cutting edge application of finite elements of the turbine foundation.
