Warsaw-Lodz-Poznan-Wroclaw High-Speed Rail, Poland

Poland

IDOM developed the high-speed railway study for Poland’s first high-speed rail line, a pioneering project that spans 450 km and will benefit approximately 10 million residents. IDOM’s service includes the development of the feasibility study and preliminary design, enabling the connection of Warsaw, Lodz, Poznan, and Wroclaw with trains capable of reaching speeds up to 350 km/h. This new infrastructure will significantly reduce travel times and CO2 emissions, while enhancing comfort and safety for rail passengers.

IDOM’s scope of work covers basic line definition, demand studies, infrastructure modernization, system and rolling stock specification, as well as the financing model and information management. This specialized study supports the advancement of sustainable and efficient mobility in Poland, in line with European trends for fast and eco-friendly rail transport.

High speed in Poland

The line will link Warsaw, Lodz, Poznan and Wroclaw with a train service that can reach a top speed of 350 km/h.

The aim of the study is to determine, among other things, the following aspects: demand studies, basic definition of the line, upgrading of the infrastructure, characteristics of the systems and rolling stock, and a funding model and infrastructure management.
