The Jubail 3A desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, with a capacity of 600,000 m³/day, sets a new benchmark in the sector thanks to the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for optimizing and ensuring the quality of engineering works.
SEPCOIII once again entrusted IDOM with the basic and detailed engineering, as well as the integration of engineering developed by the technology provider, Abengoa.
This project is a milestone in hybrid desalination plants with photovoltaic integration, featuring a 45 MWp solar field to enhance energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
In 2023, MEED awarded Jubail 3A the MENA Desalination Project of the Year, recognizing it as one of the region’s most innovative and outstanding facilities.
