The Julius Nyerere hydroelectric power plant on the Rufiji River in Tanzania stands as one of Africa’s landmark hydropower projects, with an installed capacity of 2,115 MW. IDOM served as Contractor’s Engineer, providing technical consultancy to Elsewedy Power System Projects during the EPC contract negotiation phase, including contract structure review, responsibility matrix, technical specifications, and overall project scheduling.
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has awarded the joint venture formed by Elsewedy Electric and The Arab Contractors the construction under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) scheme, the Julius Nyerere Hydroelectric Power Plant project on the Rufiji river in Tanzania.
IDOM has acted as Contractor’s Engineer for Elsewedy Power System Projects, providing technical consulting services during the contract negotiation phase including, among others:
