The Accra Nungua water desalination plant, located in Ghana, is the first of its kind in West Africa and a benchmark for innovation and efficiency. With a production capacity of 60,000 m³/day, it features ultrafiltration (UF) membrane pretreatment and a state-of-the-art high-pressure pump center, ensuring a highly efficient process. IDOM was responsible for the basic and detailed engineering, enabling the plant to supply potable water to 500,000 inhabitants in Accra and its surroundings.
ABENGOA contracted IDOM to carry out the basic and detailed engineering of the Accra – Nungua plant in Ghana.
