Taweelah desalination plant (909,000 m3/day), world-leading reverse osmosis engineering

The Taweelah desalination plant, located in the United Arab Emirates, is currently the largest reverse osmosis facility in operation worldwide, with a capacity of 909,000 m³/day.
SEPCOIII once again entrusted IDOM to carry out the basic and detailed engineering within its scope for the Taweelah plant, as well as the integration of the engineering developed by the technologist (Abengoa).
This project marks a milestone, as it includes a 70 MWp photovoltaic plant that helps reduce the cost of producing one cubic meter of potable water.
Additionally, this plant was awarded the Desalination Project of the Year in MENA by MEED in 2022.
