THE LATEST TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGIES AT THE DISPOSAL OF CITIZENS

    January 12, 2018

Line 6 of the Santiago Metro was opened to the public on November 2, 2017. This new service will link the municipalities of Cerrillos and Providencia in just 20 minutes.

Extending over 15 km, this new line has 10 stations (4 of which link with other lines on the network), and it is estimated that it will benefit 1.1 million inhabitants of the City of Santiago (Chile).

On this new line, Metro de Santiago has implemented the most modern metro technologies available in the World today: driverless trains, constantly monitored from the control centre; platform screen doors; reversible flap control gates; open channels of communication for the passengers along the route and; universal accessibility in the stations.

IDOM has been involved in the Line 6 project since 2013, carrying out different functions: supervision during construction of the stations and the technical site supervision of assembly, testing and commissioning of the systems and equipment.
