For a more sustainable world. With the European PROBONO project, we are making progress in urban regeneration

On February 21 and 22, the SONAE Campus in Porto hosted the 2nd General Assembly of PROBONO, an innovative project whose objective is to design and implement solutions for urban regeneration that are scalable and meet the sustainability standards set by the European Green Pact.

Co-financed by the European Commission, within the H2020 program, PROBONO has the participation of 47 partners of 13 different nationalities, including IDOM; gathered around 6 Living Labs.

During the conference, we discussed the progress made in the Living Labs (LL) and set the next steps, refining the plan for the five-year project.

Clara Guzmán and Toño Villanueva, representatives of IDOM, presented the progress made in the design of the geothermal district network corresponding to the Madrid Living LAB, with the participation of ACCIONA, Crea Madrid Nuevo Norte, formerly Distrito Castellana Norte, and the Madrid City Council, among others.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Living LAB of Porto, where we saw how PROBONO technologies have been implemented in the SONAE Campus.

It is worth mentioning the vegetable garden created for the workers on the 20,000 m2 green roof, the vegetation wall and the biodiversity measures implemented, such as the aviary. In the field of energy, a visit was made to the photovoltaic plant that serves the Energy Community of which Porto LL is a member.
