IDOM expands its role in the Port Polska airport project with new NAVAIDS services

IDOM has expanded its collaboration with Port Polska through a new scope of services related to Navigation Aids (NAVAIDS), systems that are essential for ensuring safe and efficient air operations at the future airport to be developed between Warsaw and Łódź.

This expansion builds on the work IDOM has been carrying out as the Airport Systems Integration Designer (ASID), a key role in coordinating and integrating information and communications technologies, as well as specialized airport systems, that will support the airport’s operations.

The new scope will allow IDOM to delve deeper into the design and integration of critical systems related to navigation and air operations, as well as to coordinate the various teams and disciplines involved in the project.

The work is part of a broader vision aimed at developing a digital airport capable of integrating more than 200 systems and components into a common architecture. This strategy includes advanced technologies such as remote digital control towers, airside movement guidance and surveillance systems (A-SMGCS), multilateration location systems (MLAT), decision-support tools, and advanced solutions for airport operations management.

The ASID methodology developed by IDOM enables the coordination of systems, processes, and data from the earliest design phases, reducing integration risks and facilitating collaboration among the client, designers, contractors, and future operators.

The contract extension strengthens IDOM’s presence in one of Europe’s most significant infrastructure projects, led by Port Polska to integrate air, rail, and road transportation through a new high-capacity mobility hub.
