King Felipe VI visited Pikolin’s new facility in Saragossa

On May 18, King Felipe VI visited the new facilities of the Pikolin group in the Plaza logistics center of the Aragonese capital, proceeding to its official inauguration. With this visit, the monarch supported and could personally assess the group’s latest industrial project, in which IDOM has participated achieving full client satisfaction. Felipe VI was accompanied during this visit by the president of Pikolin, Alfonso Soláns, the president of Aragón, Javier Lambán, and many other authorities.

The new logistics and industrial center of Pikolin in Saragossa occupies a plot of 225,000 m2 and has a surface area of ​​130,000 m2. In operation since the beginning of 2017, it has become the largest and most technologically advanced sector in Europe. IDOM carried out not only the project but also the construction management and the project management, with an investment that exceeded 50 million euros.

The Pikolin group, which this year celebrates the 70th anniversary of its creation, employs nearly 3,000 people (almost 700 in Zaragoza). It currently has 10 factories (1 in China, 1 in Vietnam, 5 in France and 3 in Spain) with a turnover of 443 million euros in 2017. Pikolin’s professional trust in IDOM dates from 20 years ago. It started in 1998 with the development of an energy audit and a feasibility study of a cogeneration and continues nowadays with the “Torre Village” project in the old location of Pikolin in Saragossa.
