Leading Spanish engineering firms in the railway sector

THE RAILWAY AS A CATALYST OF SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

Within the international market, Spanish engineering firms have become companies of reference, and railways have become one of the most sustainable alternatives to respond to current transport challenges. According to Spanish economic and business newspaper, Expansión in an article on Spanish engineering and its leadership in the railway sector, digitization and sustainability are the fundamental pillars on which to maintain this leadership.

Juan Ramón López Laborda, Director of Infrastructure at IDOM, together with other representatives of the sector,  highlighted the differential value that Spanish engineering companies must contribute to this business, thanks to their knowledge, experience, global and multisectoral approach, as well as the support given during the entire useful life of the projects. In addition, they also spoke about the way ahead in Spain in relation to the use of renewable energy sources in the transport sector, and how the railway will be a catalyst.

The awards received during this last year for being the designers in another of the sections of Rail Baltica (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) or in projects such as the Mayan Train (Mexico), demonstrate the importance of the leading role that railway has as a sustainable means of transport.
