New models using advanced analysis for track design

IDOM PRESENTS ITS STUDIES AT THE 10TH UIC WORLD CONGRESS ON HIGH SPEED RAIL

During the 10th UIC World Congress on High Speed Rail held on May 9 in Ankara, Turkey, Enrique Rico, the Rail Director of IDOM, gave a presentation entitled “Advanced models to assess the future track behavior and its incorporation to the design stage“.

Enrique explained the new advanced analysis models that are being developed by IDOM for the design of this type of infrastructure. These models represent a change in the traditional approach to design: focusing on simulating the mechanisms of aging and wear of the tracks on a high-speed line, giving a prediction of the useful life that the components will have, and showing the main points of failure that can therefore be mitigated in the conception and design stage.

The UIC World Congress is the most comprehensive international congresses and trade fair around the world in terms of rail. The main objective of the event, held in Turkey between May 8 and 11, was the exchange of information on the latest developments, trends and applications that are being developed with respect to high-speed rail technology.
