Planning, monitoring, and response: A Strategy for more resilient water management
Climate change poses ever-greater challenges to water management. More frequent droughts, intense rainfall events, and new risks to water quality necessitate more sophisticated planning and greater response capacity.
To address these challenges, the IDOM Water team, in collaboration with the IDOM-IDRICA joint venture, has partnered with EMACSA (the Córdoba Municipal Water Company) to develop three strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening urban water cycle management.
💧 Adapting the Drought Emergency Plan to the new climate reality.
💧 Improving monitoring protocols, public health plans, and the management of drinking water quality.
💧 Developing a new plan for alerts, coordination, and decision-making support in the event of floods and heavy rainfall.
These projects improve preparedness for emergency situations, strengthen operational coordination, and increase the resilience of water infrastructure and services in the face of climate-changed-shaped scenarios.
