Together with Ferrovial, IDOM is designing the Spanish network of vertiports for drones and air taxis
AERONAUTICAL CHALLENGES COMPATIBLE COMPLIANT WITH THE SURROUNDINGS
With regard to transport, electric mobility is one of the pillars of social. Currently, various models of passenger mobility are being discussed. Perhaps, airways in the city environment are the most innovative, replacing the current helicopters and generating a new, more efficient connectivity.
In relation to this type of mobility, Ferrovial has devised a solution that involves introducing, a network of more than 20 Spanish vertical airports (vertiports) that are 100% sustainable, for the operation of drones (remotely piloted aircraft).
In this process, IDOM has designed several types of vertiports that solve aeronautical challenges, solutions that involve integrated architectural design; compliant with the surroundings and that make the most of the energy efficiency of the installation. This initiative was presented to the Spanish Ministries of Industry and Ecological Transition, as an alternative to reduce polluting emissions and reduce travel time.
