The mining company of Saudi Arabia (Ma’aden) and Alcoa developed a megaproject that initially included a bauxite mine, an alumina refinery, an aluminum smelter and an aluminum rolling mill. This project is located in Ras Al-Khair, northwest of Saudi Arabia.
IDOM carried out civil and structural engineering for the Samsung Engineering group as part of its EPC contract for the construction of the aluminum hot and cold rolling facility, with a capacity of 380,000 t/year.
The scope of the services provided includede the metallic structure of the facility with 100,000 m² and the complete civil works (foundations of the facilities, technological buildings and equipment).
