Coca-Cola bottling plants
Spain
IDOM has developed studies and projects for several Coca-Cola bottling plants (Casbega, Norbega and Cobega).
Specifically, IDOM has carried out a study for one of the bottling plants to increase overall production to 74 million bottles on 11 lines, the result of which has indicated the need to extend a plant by 3 lines of 100,000 bottles/hour + 1 line of recycled bottles of 60,000 bottles/hour + warehouses for 800,000 bottles.
IDOM has developed the EPCM services for this expansion, located in Fuenlabrada (Madrid) with a new surface area of 27,500 m², with two complete glass bottle bottling lines (100,000 bottles per hour each line) and a line for mixing new and recoverable glass bottles (60,000 bottles per hour). In addition to a warehouse with a capacity for 500,000 crates of recoverable glass bottles and 300,000 crates of non-recoverable glass bottles.
To service these new facilities, different auxiliary buildings were designed; Compressor room (3x (7.5 bar; 11.16 m³/min; 75 kW), 45 kV transformer room with 3 transformers of 2,000 kVAs each, boiler room for continuous steam production of 15 t/h at 105ºC and 10 bar.
This project has been an important milestone in IDOM’s trajectory in the industrial sector, consolidating its experience in the design and execution of complex, large-scale installations. The close collaboration with the client and the multidisciplinary approach to the project have been the key to its success.
