Revamping works in the WTE Plant of Sant Adria del Besos, Barcelona

The waste-to-energy plant in San Adrián del Besós, Barcelona, is undergoing a comprehensive renovation project to enhance waste treatment processes. TERSA commissioned ROS ROCA to replace three grates and the slag extractor, utilizing Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) technology. IDOM has been contracted to provide engineering services, including design definition, equipment integration into the existing geometry, structural reinforcement, site supervision, and technical assistance for commissioning at this waste-to-energy plant in San Adrián del Besós.
The Project comprises the following equipment:
- Feed Hopper
- Hydraulic station
- 3 new grates and corresponding cooling system
- Slag extractor

The functions performed by IDOM were:
- Layout definition, closely working with Hitachi
