IDOM improves sanitation in the municipality of Zonguldak, Turkey
Turkey
The Zonguldak sanitation Turkey IDOM project marks a key transformation for the city. The plan includes upgrading and expanding the existing collector system with over 42 km of sewer network, along with an additional 25 km of new construction. The infrastructure features seven pumping stations and an interceptor collector that transports wastewater to the treatment plant. The project also includes a 620-meter submarine outfall, safely and sustainably discharging treated effluent into the sea.
New treatment infrastructures must be resilient and incorporate the best of the latest technologies
The main node of the project is the wastewater treatment plant, designed to treat more than 60,000 m³/day and serve approximately half a million residents. These new treatment infrastructures incorporate advanced, resilient technologies, ensuring environmental protection and long-term sustainability for Zonguldak and its surroundings.
