Article on the General Services building of the San Jorge University in El País

Anatxu Zabalbeascoa destaca los parabienes del proyecto

On April 10, the El País newspaper published an article on the General Services building of the San Jorge University on the blog of the well-known architecture critic, Anatxu Zabalbeascoa. Her blog – Del tirador a la ciudad – is one of the most prestigious online dissemination channels and critique of architecture.

In the article, Anatxu describes the building as follows: “(…) in addition to being flexible, efficient and sustainable, the building is respectful with the environment, the client and with the students: it ensures that they are comfortable, do not waste their time and that they understand the value of the responsibility of what has been achieved. That is why this building is efficient in the simplified organization of circulation routes, in the distribution of spaces, and in its energetic approach: it takes advantage of the geothermal value of the site, caring for the views and paying tribute to them at the same time. With these cares, the prefabrication and industrialization of architecture has a future rooted in the knowledge of the past “.

The new lecture, library and general services building for the students of the San Jorge University Campus, the work of our architect colleagues, Antonio Lorén and Olatz Maestre, was completed in December 2016.
