IDOM collaborates with Karume Institute of Science and Technology (Tanzania)

Last February, IDOM started a study to reorganize and electrify public transport in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The first milestone of the project included collecting data on the current Daladalas system using techniques such as pneumatic gauging and cameras. IDOM was assisted in this work by the Karume Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). Forty-four KIST students, divided into four groups supervised by IDOM experts, participated in the data collection after receiving training.

On April 16, during the presentation of the first preliminary data from the study, the remarkable work of the KIST students was recognized. Hon. Nadir Abdullatif Yussuf Al-Wardy, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, presented the diplomas to the students.

It is hoped that this collaboration will continue to ensure optimal knowledge transfer and contribute to the technical development of Zanzibar’s future professionals.  Asante sana marafiki kutoka KIST! – Many thanks to our friends at KIST!
